As of the 1st October 2008 all homeowners will be required to apply for planning permission to install a driveway to their property. This is a move by the government to reduce the amount of surface water run off that is contributing to the localised flooding problems seen across the country lately. Permeable paving is designed to allow the surface water to drain through the joints between the blocks and back into the ground where it is naturally dispersed, Permeable Paving is the environmentally friendly alternative to standard block paving.
